At long last, several new online features for TEAM trainers are now available. Trainers can login using their trainer ID number and email address. The online features include the ability to update contact information, view the results for all the training sessions they have conducted, and take the online recertification exam. Please keep in mind that the system is new, so there are certain to be some things that need tweaking. If you have any problems, please call us at 877-2-TEAM-CO (877-283-2626) or email us at info@teamcoalition.org

To qualify for the online recertification exam, trainers must have trained at least 4 sessions or had at least 80 employees pass the exam during their most recent certification period. Also, a trainer can recertify with the online exam every other recertification period. On the alternate years, trainers must recertify by attending a TEAM Instructor Development Program (IDP) workshop.

Additional features to the online interface that will be available soon include the ability to reprint a lost employee certification card, online exam functionality for employees, and registering for IDPs and ordering training manuals online.

To login to the new online features for trainers, click here for the TEAM home page and then click on the "trainer login" button on the left side of the page.

This summer the Responsibility Has Its Rewards (RHIR) promotion continues to reach out to fans who pledge to always have a designated driver and wear their safety belts. Recent events include the NCAA Final Four Weekend, NFL Draft Parties with the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, the Preakness Stakes, World Cup Viewing Party, the MLB All-Star Game, Buffalo Bills Training Camp, and the MLS All-Star Game. All fans who participated in the promotion had the opportunity to receive a branded photo and to film their own traffic safety public service message.

Each month in 2006, TEAM will host Instructor Development Program (IDP) workshops at sports and entertainment facilities across the country. By attending and passing the trainer certification exam, facility and concessionaire managers become certified TEAM trainers for a period of two years. Trainers receive all the materials necessary to conduct team training in effective alcohol management at their facility for their staff. Please let us know if you are interested in hosting a future IDP.

Here is the schedule of upcoming workshops:

  • August 8th and 9th in Chicago, IL at UIC Pavilion
  • September 12th and 13th in Columbus, OH at OSU Schottenstein Center

To register for an upcoming IDP, click here.

The TEAM family is pleased to introduce its newest member, the new Program Associate, John Hadley. John, a DC native, is a recent graduate from the University of Notre Dame where he studied English. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City where he worked for a small graduate business school specializing in the media industry. He is thrilled to be a part of TEAM and looks forward to the coming months when he’ll get the chance to meet and work with everyone.

In response to feedback we received from trainers, we have created “TEAM Certified” stickers that employees may wear when they have completed and passed TEAM certification training. There are two different designs. The large circle covers 3 inch price buttons. The small circle is perfect for name badges. Both proudly announce the employee to be “TEAM Certified for your Safety” and are available upon request.

The Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio DOT have launched an initiative to combat drunk driving and to encourage buckling up by posting signs and stickers throughout the Great American Ballpark. The messages are being displayed on every cup holder and at all exits, concession stands and fan accommodation booths of the park. We salute the effort and hope other clubs take notice!

The Responsibility Has Its Rewards sweepstakes for designated drivers encourages fans to be responsible and plan ahead before attending professional sporting events by always having a sober designated driver.

TEAM is constantly trying to improve the products and services we offer our members, trainers, and supporters. Here is just a sample of the list of enhancements that we are developing and implementing as a result of feedback we have already received.

  • Spanish, French, and Portuguese language training manual for employees - available by October 2006

Also, we have learned from our trainers how best to ensure that you receive your session results quickly and accurately.

  • Make photo copies of all exam forms before sending them to TEAM in case they are lost in delivery
  • Use a delivery service that allows you to track the envelope that you send in the event we do not receive it
  • Confirm that all the exams you send have the expected number of questions answered
  • Confirm that the information for the name fields on the exam forms are entered correctly
  • Include a session roster for each session you submit for processing
  • Try to provide all test-takers with pencils and erasers to make the data processing smoother
  • If possible, place your order for training manuals a few weeks in advance

We would appreciate any additional feedback or best practices you would like to share.
